Cristiano Ronaldo risks six-month suspension for leaving national team

Forward Cristiano Ronaldo faces a suspension of one to six months and a fine for leaving the Portuguese national team's training camp.

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Al Nassr forward, risks a suspension of one to six months and a fine for abandoning the Portuguese national team's training camp, according to the Disciplinary Regulations (RD) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF).

The regulations state that any player who, having been called up, unjustifiably abandons or fails to appear for training, a match, or any national team activity will be sanctioned. Absence or abandonment results in the automatic preventive suspension of the player.

The national team captain left the training center after the victory against Norway, where he was an unused substitute and left the pitch visibly dissatisfied. The FPF president, Pedro Proença, traveled to the Danish capital, where Portugal will face Denmark in the Nations League.

Coach Jorge Jesus confirmed Gonçalo Ramos will start but did not rule out Ronaldo's involvement, stating that status does not grant players different treatment and the final decision on his use rests with the coach.
