The Eco Rally Madeira, the tenth and penultimate stage of the FIA Eco Rally Cup, held its first section this weekend, covering the north of the island.
After the initial stage, which started from Funchal towards Porto Moniz, passing through several municipalities, Eduardo Carpinteiro (Kia EV4) took the lead in the general classification. The event, also part of the Portuguese Championship for New Energies, focuses on regularity and adherence to schedules and average speeds.
Milan Bydzovsky (Peugeot E-2008 GT) and Ricardo Nunes (Hyundai Kauai) are in pursuit, with Nunes being the best local competitor. The top 5 is rounded out by Pedro Morais (Renault 4 E-Tech) and Carlos Silva (BMW i3), both Portuguese.
