The Madeira Electricity Company, SA (EEM) has announced that electricity supply will be interrupted in various locations on the island due to conservation and renovation work on the distribution network.
Outages are scheduled for Funchal (Santa Luzia) on August 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, affecting Rua do Pombal and Rua das Dificuldades. On August 18, supply will be cut in Santo António (Funchal) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Rua Dr. Gastão Deus Figueira. In São Vicente, the interruption will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the areas of Achada dos Judeus, Fajã dos Vinháticos, Ribeira Grande, and Terra do Galo. Ribeira Brava will experience outages from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the areas of Boa Morte, Lombo da Levada, Soquinha, and S. João.
The EEM requests the understanding of consumers for any inconvenience caused and advises that, for safety reasons, conductors should be considered permanently live during the specified periods.
