Emanuel Câmara Criticizes State Budget: "Not Good for Madeira"

Emanuel Câmara, a PS Member of Parliament elected for Madeira, has criticized the proposed State Budget for 2027, deeming it detrimental to the region.

Câmara highlighted a financial discrepancy of approximately 50 million euros favouring the Azores under the Autonomous Regions' Finance Law, calling it unacceptable and a sign of ongoing discrimination. He warned that Madeira cannot continue to be "systematically left behind."

The MP also lamented that the proposal does not address crucial issues such as mobility and housing. He expressed concern regarding the financing of the third phase of Madeira's new hospital, citing outdated regulations and the postponement of the project's completion to 2031.
