An alert to the 112 emergency number, indicating a supposed serious accident with multiple victims on the Vitória Bridge in Câmara de Lobos, mobilized various emergency services this Saturday.
The Volunteer Firefighters of Câmara de Lobos and the Volunteer Firefighters of Madeira were alerted by the Regional Civil Protection. Upon arrival, the Public Security Police (PSP) confirmed the road was clear and there was no accident.
Subsequently, several fire department resources arrived, including three ambulances and a command vehicle. Over ten firefighters confirmed the absence of any incident. The situation is considered serious, as a false alarm can divert essential resources from real emergencies, particularly on a day with a rally event taking place.
