The "O ENSEADA" – Funchal Arts Festival 2026 was presented at the Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias. The event, organized by the Funchal City Council with co-financing from the European Union (Madeira 2030 / Portugal 2030), represents an investment of 197,000 euros.
The second edition of the festival, taking place from September 17th to 19th, will bring together over 200 artists and 20 associations, featuring around 30 shows and initiatives. The program emphasizes the collective and multidisciplinary dimension, prioritizing local artists and cultural structures.
The initiative aims to promote the involvement of cultural and creative agents, bringing art to various locations in Funchal, including Praça Amarela, the Municipal Garden Auditorium, Largo do Corpo Santo, Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias, the Sugar City Museum, and the Artistic Creation Studio, Praça do Município. The festival seeks to establish Funchal as a hub for cultural enjoyment, creation, and participation, combining regional artists with other projects.
