A study released by idealista shows that neither Funchal nor other municipalities on the island of Madeira are among the 50 Portuguese municipalities most in demand for rentals.
The ranking, led by Amadora, highlights an increasing demand for housing in inland municipalities, where median rents are below one thousand euros per month. Approximately 31 of the top 50 municipalities have rents below this threshold, indicating a market expansion into regions like Alentejo, Trás-os-Montes, and Beiras.
