Funchal City Council supports 67th Madeira Rally with 49,000 euros

The Funchal City Council (CMF) has announced support of 49,000 euros for the 67th edition of the Madeira Rally, taking place on the first weekend of August. CMF President Jorge Carvalho highlighted the event's importance for the region and called for public civility and safety.

The cooperation protocol with Club Sports Madeira covers the event's logistics and promotion. The council will also enhance security and cleaning measures, with Municipal Civil Protection cooperating with rescue teams and urban hygiene operations before, during, and after the race. More recycling bins and waste containers will be provided.

The event will feature environmental awareness activities, including initiatives at the Funchal Ecological Park and the presence of the environmental mascot 'Simão'. A new feature this year is the relocation of the rally's logistical structure to the Maritime Station, freeing up the Praça do Município.
