The Casa de Saúde São João de Deus in Funchal will host the VI Convention on Addictive Behaviors and Dependencies of Madeira and the II Convention on Addictive Behaviors and Dependencies of Macaronesia on October 8 and 9.
The event aims to foster reflection and knowledge sharing on current challenges related to addictive behaviors and dependencies. Specialists, health professionals, researchers, and representatives from various entities and territories of Macaronesia will discuss prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and new responses.
The program includes conferences on psychoactive substances and sexuality, alcohol consumption in Cape Verde, addictive behaviors in the Azores, and the impact of gaming on Madeira's youth. Prevention among new generations and innovation in treating alcohol-related problems will also be addressed. The convention will conclude with a Mental Health March on October 9.
