Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians Protest in Funchal for Better Salaries

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians (TSDT) demonstrated in Funchal on Friday, chanting slogans such as "Negotiation yes. Discrimination no." The professionals, who work in areas including Health, Education, and Environment, are demanding a salary scale that reflects the specificity of their roles.

Their demands include the full implementation of the Regional Legislative Decree concerning their career, the adaptation of the regional progression accelerator for SESARAM workers with individual employment contracts, and the regularization of evaluation points accumulated since 2023. The protest involved a gathering at Quinta Vigia and a march to the Palace of São Lourenço to deliver a motion.

TSDTs in Madeira joined a national strike called by the National Union of Health Superior Technicians (STSS), with an estimated participation rate of 90% to 100% in the region, leading to the closure of several services.
