Funchal Introduces New BUS Lanes and Alters Traffic Flow in Several Streets from September 2nd

Road traffic in Funchal's center will undergo significant changes starting September 2nd, with the introduction of new exclusive bus lanes (BUS) and modifications to parking and circulation rules on several city streets.

The changes involve the creation of BUS lanes on Rua 5 de Outubro, Rua 31 de Janeiro, and Rua do Visconde de Anadia. These lanes are designated for regular public transport, taxis, emergency vehicles, and police, with permission also extended to motorcycles and motorized tricycles.

Furthermore, the Ponte do Pelourinho will no longer permit pedestrian circulation, and paid parking spaces on Rua da Infância will be removed to ensure traffic flow near a public transport stop.
