The Funchal Port Authority has issued strong wind warnings for the maritime coast and bad weather warnings, signal 6, which will be in effect until 6 AM on July 2nd.
Fresh north/northeast winds are forecast, potentially becoming very fresh and sometimes strong from the afternoon. Visibility will be good to moderate.
On the north coast, northeast waves of 2 to 3 meters are expected, while on the south coast, the swell will be from the south quadrant, with 1 to 1.5 meters. The Authority recommends caution for the maritime community and the general public, including reinforcing boat moorings and avoiding coastal areas exposed to rough seas.
