The island of Madeira continues to face a period of intense heat, with the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) maintaining advisories for Wednesday, July 8th.
The mountainous regions of the island are under an orange alert, the highest level, due to persistent high temperatures. The north coast, south coast, and the island of Porto Santo remain under a yellow alert.
General forecasts indicate mostly clear skies across the archipelago. Winds are expected to be light to moderate from the northwest, with temperatures ranging between 20 and 25ºC in Madeira and between 20 and 22ºC in Porto Santo. A slight decrease in temperature is anticipated in the highlands.
