The VI Food Week, organized by the Municipality of Funchal, attracted around 6,000 participants to Largo da Restauração. The event, which included the traditional 'Community Soup', featured the participation of three entities preparing regional soups.
Approximately 900 bowls of soup were served, including Caldo Verde, Wheat Soup, and Chickpea Broth. The Mayor of Funchal, Jorge Carvalho, highlighted that the event aims to promote healthy eating, the consumption of regional products, and the reduction of food waste.
The Food Week was part of Funchal's Food Strategy – SEMEAR – and offered a diverse program with lectures, workshops, and educational activities for all ages, aiming to raise awareness for a balanced and sustainable diet.
