The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued a yellow alert for Madeira on Friday, covering the period from 00:00 to 09:00.
Showers are forecast during this window, some of them heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms.
The alerts are expected to continue through the week, as conditions worsen over the weekend.
