JPP Accuses Regional Government of "Incompetence" in PRR Project Execution

The Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) party has accused the Madeira Regional Government of "incompetence" in executing projects under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). This criticism follows confirmation of a reduced target for housing units, from 1,121 to 805, attributed to market limitations and the need to prevent imbalances.

JPP deputy Paulo Alves also highlighted concerns over decreased targets for continuing care facilities and residential homes. He argued that centralizing fund management within the regional administration, rather than decentralizing to municipalities, contributed to the situation, likening it to "centralism" and criticizing the executive as "specialists in announcements" who do not admit mistakes.
