The Social Democratic Youth (JSD) of Madeira, through its president Bruno Melim, criticized the persistent lack of housing certificates and other housing planning instruments in some of the island's municipalities.
Melim argued that these municipalities should face penalties in their state budget transfers. He stressed that the response to the housing crisis requires structural policies and challenged the new leadership of JSD Santana to contribute with new causes and proposals for the north of Madeira.
During the inauguration of the new JSD Santana Political Commission, led by Manuel Dória, Melim also commented on the centrist policies of the CDS leadership in the Santana Municipal Chamber, deeming them the antithesis of regional policies and those in PSD-led coalitions.
