'Little Hospital' Demystifies Doctor Visits for Children

The Madeira Youth Association of Medicine (AJEMed) is hosting the tenth edition of 'Little Hospital', an initiative aimed at demystifying children's fear of medical appointments, healthcare professionals, and hospital environments.

The event, held at the Madeira Press Museum in Câmara de Lobos, employs a fun and educational approach where children act as doctors for their own stuffed animals. The goal is to offer youngsters a relaxed introduction to healthcare procedures and settings, thereby reducing anxiety associated with doctor visits.

'Open Days' for families are scheduled for August 21st and 22nd, offering free participation. The organizers also encourage donations of food items, toys, or clothing for a charitable institution.
