The Machico Municipal Firefighters celebrated their 66th anniversary with an official ceremony held at the corporation's barracks.
The event was attended by members of the Machico Municipal Assembly executive, led by president Hugo Marques, and the president of the Regional Civil Protection Service, Richard Marques.
A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a silver salver to Francisco Roque, a recently retired firefighter, in recognition of his career. The celebrations concluded with a social gathering and the traditional blowing out of candles.
