Madeira International Airport – Cristiano Ronaldo was impacted by strong winds on Monday, leading to the cancellation of nine flights and the diversion of two.
By 4 PM, five arrivals and four departures had been cancelled, according to the ANA Aeroportos website. Wind gusts reached 80 km/h at 1:30 PM, causing significant disruption to air operations.
ANA warns that adverse weather conditions may persist in the coming days and advises passengers to confirm their flight status with their respective airlines before travelling to the airport.
