Madeira will host the Regional Final of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal® this Saturday, with a special live broadcast on TVI from the Funchal Maritime Promenade.
The four-hour show, running from 2 pm to 6 pm, will place Funchal in the national spotlight, showcasing the island's heritage.
The program, hosted by Maria Cerqueira Gomes, will feature entertainment, musical performances, and reports on the 21 candidates across seven categories, ranging from historical monuments to engineering works and cultural and landscape heritage. The most voted sites will advance to the national phase of the competition, which runs until the end of August.
