The Autonomous Region of Madeira is on track to set a new record in 2026, with projections of 349 cruise ship calls and the first-time surpassing of the 800,000 passenger mark in a single year.
According to the Port Authority of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (APRAM), these figures represent the culmination of an extraordinary year for the sector, which has seen growth over the past five years. Projections indicate a movement close to 820,000 passengers and around 350 calls, an increase of nearly 10% in passengers and 5.4% in calls compared to 2025, which was already the best year ever.
Paula Cabaço, president of APRAM's board, highlighted the companies' confidence in Madeira as a destination and the work of sector partners. October, in particular, anticipates 33 calls and over 75,000 passengers, pointing to one of the best Octobers in recent years. The figures are provisional and subject to change by year-end.
