Madeira Nominated for Three Categories in World Travel Awards 2026

The Destination Madeira, Porto Santo, and the Madeira Promotion Association have received three nominations for the World Travel Awards 2026 global edition.

The Destination Madeira has once again been nominated for the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2026 global edition, securing three distinctions in separate categories: World's Leading Island Destination, World's Leading Beach Destination (Porto Santo), and World's Leading Tourist Board (Madeira Promotion Association).

These nominations mark the global stage of the awards, recognized as the highest level of international acclaim in the travel and tourism industry. Eduardo Jesus, the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment, and Culture, emphasized that the nominations "once again place the Region among the leading international destinations and tourism entities" and acknowledge the ongoing promotional and valorization efforts.

Voting is open until October 30th on the World Travel Awards portal, with winners to be revealed at the World Gala in December in Tanzania. Madeira had previously secured five nominations in the European edition of the WTA 2026, including Europe's Leading Island Destination and Europe's Leading Beach Destination for Porto Santo.
