Madeira Nominated for World Cruise Awards 2026 in Two Categories

The Autonomous Region of Madeira has been nominated for the fifth consecutive year for the World Cruise Awards 2026, being among the finalists in two important categories: Best European Cruise Destination and World's Best Cruise Terminal for Sustainability.

This dual nomination represents international recognition of the work developed on the island for sustainable and competitive cruise tourism. Madeira has already won the award for Best European Cruise Destination in 2022, 2023, and 2025, and in 2024, the Funchal cruise terminal was elected the World's Best Cruise Terminal for Sustainability.

Voting is open to the public and takes place online until August 21. The winners will be announced on October 14 at the World Cruise Awards Annual Gala, which will be held in Jamaica this year. Cruise tourism had a direct impact of 62.9 million euros on the regional economy in 2025, the best year ever with over one million passengers.
