The Madeira Sports Club has received 89 entries for the upcoming edition of the Madeira Rally, scheduled to take place from July 30th to August 1st. This number surpasses the maximum limit of 75 competitors set by the event's regulations.
The provisional list includes 22 teams from outside Madeira and 67 local teams. Due to the excess of applications, the organization will conduct a detailed analysis of competitors and vehicles to select the admitted participants, prioritizing safety criteria and the smooth running of the competition.
Priority will be given to competitors with FIA-homologated vehicles and drivers classified in the Portuguese and Madeiran championships who use such vehicles. The selection will also consider participants with RGT vehicles and "spectacle" drivers for their contribution to the audience's interest.
