The Madeira Rally, considered the region's top motorsport event, begins today. The morning will feature the traditional 'Shakedown' on Estrada dos Cardais, between Santo da Serra and Água de Pena, starting at 8:30 AM.
This event allows drivers to fine-tune their cars and test their brakes. Although it doesn't count towards the official standings, it consistently draws a large crowd, signaling the start of the adrenaline-fueled competition.
The starting ceremony is scheduled for 4:00 PM at Praça do Povo. Shortly after, at 7:30 PM, the first special stage (SS) of the rally will commence along Avenida do Mar and Avenida Sá Carneiro, officially launching the battle for the top positions.
