The Sports Demographics for the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) for the 2024/2025 season are now publicly available on the Regional Directorate of Sport's website.
The report indicates that 25,755 federate athletes were registered, participating in 67 sports disciplines. These athletes are affiliated with 139 regional clubs or sports corporations, and 31 regional associations.
The data also highlights 252 high-potential practitioners supported by a unique financial program in Portugal. In high-performance sports, 62 agents were supported, including 56 athletes, one referee, and five coaches. Furthermore, 350 athletes were part of regional teams, and 78 represented national teams.
The regional sports association movement involved 718 referees and 844 coaches, contributing to the achievement of 328 national titles and 137 international titles across various sports practiced in Madeira.
