The grape harvest campaign in Madeira has already surpassed 2,335 tons of processed grapes, with 826 producers delivering their yield to 11 economic operators.
During this period, the region is hosting a visit from the president of the Azores Vine and Wine Institute, Cláudio José Gomes Lopes. The initiative, at the invitation of IVBAM president Tiago Freitas, aims to bring the two archipelagos closer in the wine sector and allow the Azorean delegation to experience Madeira's reality, from production to processing.
The program includes visits to agricultural farms, wineries, and the Cardais Experimental Field, observing the grape harvest in different municipalities. The Azorean delegation will also hold meetings with Madeira wine companies and the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, to identify cooperation opportunities.
