Registered unemployment in the Autonomous Region of Madeira showed positive development in June, with a year-on-year decrease of 10.7%.
At the end of June, there were 4,998 registered unemployed individuals, 600 fewer than in June 2025. This performance positions Madeira as the second region in the country with the largest year-on-year drop in unemployment, behind the North (-14.3%).
In a month-on-month comparison, the number of registered unemployed individuals decreased by 6.8% between May and June, reaching 4,998, a reduction of 362 people, exceeding the national average (-3.7%). Placements saw a monthly increase of 23.5%.
