The Madeiran band Aoakaso is performing tonight in Jersey as part of the Madeira Day celebrations, held at the Radisson Blue Hotel in St. Helier.
The event, starting at 6 PM, will include dinner and a musical performance where the band will play Portuguese rock hits. The Madeira Folklore Group of Jersey, Emanuel Vieira, and Mark Faria are also scheduled to perform.
Celebrations will also feature the awarding of diplomas to top students of Portuguese language and culture classes on the island. This year's event differs from previous ones by taking place indoors at a hotel.
