The Madeiran community in the United States once again celebrated the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament in New Bedford, one of the largest expressions of Madeiran culture in the diaspora.
The traditional parade featured music, folklore, and the participation of various generations of emigrants and their descendants, celebrating the region's identity and roots.
Organized by the Clube Madeirense S.S. Sacramento, the festival keeps alive a tradition started in 1915 by emigrants from Calheta and has become a meeting point for the Portuguese-American community in Massachusetts.
