Monte celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of the Mount, a religious ceremony commemorating the flood of October 9, 1803, one of Madeira's greatest natural disasters.
The Eucharist was led by the Bishop of Funchal, D. Nuno Brás Silva Martins, with community participation, including the Confraternity of Our Lady of the Mount. New members were welcomed into the Confraternity during the service, receiving the traditional cape.
Following the mass, a procession in honor of Our Lady of the Mount took place, concluding with a community gathering accompanied by the Funchal Municipal Band. The festival keeps historical memory alive and renews Marian devotion.
