The Monte Palace Madeira Garden is the only candidate from the Autonomous Region of Madeira to have secured a place in the Grand National Final of the 'New 7 Wonders of Portugal'.
In the national semi-final, held at the National Palace of Sintra, 49 candidates competed, with 21 advancing to the final, three from each of the seven categories. The other six regional candidates did not progress.
The Grand National Final is scheduled for September 12, when the seven new wonders of Portugal, one per category, will be chosen.
