The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, attended the Ponta do Pargo Parish Day celebrations, highlighting public investments made and planned for the area's economic and social development.
Maciel noted 16 applications approved under the PRODERAM2020 program, totaling over 710,000 euros in agricultural investments. He also stressed the future importance of constructing the Ponta do Pargo lagoon for local agriculture.
The future Ponta do Pargo Golf Course, with an estimated investment of 16.4 million euros and expected completion this year, was highlighted as a strategic project to attract investment, create jobs, and decentralize tourism. The completion of the second phase of the expressway between Fajã da Ovelha and Ponta do Pargo in 2022, an investment of 40.3 million euros, was also emphasized as crucial for accessibility.
