Águas e Resíduos da Madeira (ARM) has announced that there will be changes to waste collection and reception services due to the October 5th holiday, which falls on a Monday.
In Machico, the collection of unsorted waste will proceed on October 5th, starting at 8:00 AM, but cardboard collection will be postponed to Tuesday, October 6th. In Santana, Monday's unsorted waste collection will be moved to Tuesday, October 6th, and Tuesday's collection to Wednesday, October 7th. Cardboard collection in Santana, scheduled for October 5th, will be moved to Thursday, October 8th.
In Porto Santo, the collection of unsorted waste will take place as usual on October 5th, starting at 7:00 AM. However, the Meia Serra Solid Waste Treatment Station (ETRS) will only receive waste for incineration and green waste on the holiday, between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM, by prior request. The East and West Transfer Stations, as well as the Porto Santo Solid Waste Processing Center, will be closed on that day. ARM thanks everyone for their understanding.
