Paula Margarido Reaffirms Regional Government's Support for Madeira's IPSS

Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, Paula Margarido, reaffirmed the Regional Government's commitment to the social sector. The statement was made during the inauguration ceremony of the new governing bodies of the Union of Private Social Solidarity Institutions of Madeira (UIPSS Madeira).

Margarido highlighted the re-election of Maria do Céu Coelho as president of UIPSS Madeira, viewing it as a sign of trust in the work done. The secretary noted that Madeira has 89 IPSS, with 71 having cooperation agreements with the Madeira Social Security Institute (ISSM). The Regional Government channeled over 269 million euros to the sector between 2015 and 2024, and in 2023 provided extraordinary support of 650,000 euros to 59 institutions.
