The Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) held a horn-honking protest at the East entrance of Funchal, targeting the "growing price escalation," particularly for fuels.
According to the PCP, the event saw "massive turnout" from the Madeiran population. The party argues that rising fuel prices worsen the cost of living and require intervention from the Regional Government. The PCP advocates for fuel prices to be fixed at levels "adequate to the economic reality" of the region and neighboring islands, along with measures such as a 30% VAT reduction.
