The Judicial Police (PJ) is conducting an inspection and investigation operation targeting 11 stores selling cannabis-derived products and smart shops in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
The operation involves the collaboration of the Economic Activities Verification and Regulation Authority (ARAE), the PSP (Public Security Police), and the Regional Health Service. Searches and inspections are underway in several establishments, including one at Largo do Chafariz in Funchal.
PJ coordinator in Funchal, José Matos, stated that seized products are being analyzed by the Madeira DIC drug laboratory to determine their legal and public health classification. A more detailed statement is expected from the PJ later in the afternoon.
