The Public Security Police (PSP) are investigating an alleged hit-and-run that occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning on Avenida do Infante, in Funchal.
Initial enquiries suggest the driver may have deliberately targeted a group of young people before fleeing the scene. A 23-year-old man was struck and sustained injuries not considered serious.
Witnesses and video evidence indicate the driver of a dark SUV-type vehicle deliberately mounted the pavement before hitting the group. The vehicle involved has been identified, and police inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
