An individual, allegedly of Russian or Ukrainian nationality, is being sought on suspicion of committing several thefts in commercial establishments in Funchal and other municipalities on the island.
According to reports, the suspect uses a scheme that has deceived several merchants. He sometimes wears a cap to hinder identification, removing it on other occasions. The PSP has already distributed his image to various police units.
However, police can only proceed with an arrest if there is a formal complaint or if the crime is caught in the act. To date, there is no information about the suspect being identified or questioned by authorities.
