The Public Security Police (PSP) and Airbnb have launched an awareness campaign to warn about the rise in scams related to holiday rental accommodations, especially as demand for summer bookings increases.
Under the slogan 'Safe Holidays', the initiative aims to strengthen prevention against digital fraud, recommending users avoid clicking on suspicious links, be wary of offers that seem too good to be true, and never make payments via direct bank transfer.
The entities advise conducting all communications, bookings, and payments exclusively through official platforms, using strong passwords, and enabling multi-factor authentication. Any suspected scam should be immediately reported to the authorities.
