The Ponta do Pargo golf course, situated on the island's westernmost point, is being developed as a strategic project for the region.
Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, reaffirmed the government's commitment to this undertaking, viewing it as a cornerstone for the economic and tourism future of the Calheta municipality.
With an estimated investment of 16.4 million euros, the project intends to attract visitors to the west coast, diversify the economy through its associated real estate component, and create local employment. The development also emphasizes environmental sustainability, utilizing native grass and an advanced water management system to minimize ecological impact.
