The dive company Porto Santo Sub is marking 25 years of activity in 2026. Founded by couple José and Joana Ricardo, who transformed their passion for the sea into a business on the Golden Island, the company has a positive outlook on its journey.
"We really like living here and the business is going well, so we are fully satisfied," said José Ricardo. Despite the challenges inherent to Porto Santo's seasonality, the couple highlights the loyalty of clients who return annually and recommend their services.
José Ricardo emphasizes the importance of diving for local tourism, citing the sinking of the ships 'O Madeirense' and the corvette 'General Pereira d'Eça' as boosts to the sport. The company plans to invest in a new boat, a trimaran, and intends to continue operating on the island long-term.
