A convoy of emergency resources, including personnel from the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection, Volunteer Firefighters from Beiras and Serra da Estrela, and the GNR's Emergency Protection and Rescue Unit, has departed Portugal for the Spanish province of Ávila.
The mission, characterized by urgency and the scale of the wildfire crisis, is escorted by the Guardia Civil's Traffic Group to ensure speed and safety. This initiative reflects solidarity between neighboring countries facing cross-border emergencies, aiming to halt destruction and support at-risk populations.
