PS-Madeira MP Questions Safeguarding of Regional Interests in TAP Following Lufthansa Stake

Emanuel Câmara seeks clarification from the Minister of Infrastructure on the impact of Lufthansa's stake in TAP for island residents.

PS-Madeira MP Questions Safeguarding of Regional Interests in TAP Following Lufthansa Stake

PS-Madeira Member of Parliament to the Assembly of the Republic, Emanuel Câmara, has requested clarification from the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Miguel Pinto Luz, on how the interests of Madeira and Porto Santo residents will be safeguarded following the announcement that Lufthansa will hold 49.9% of TAP.

Câmara emphasized the "determining" role of air transport for the mobility of island residents, given their insular condition. The MP will question the minister on how this matter was handled in the negotiations leading to the privatization.

The deputy views this situation as another example of the AD Government's "disregard" for territorial continuity, adding to the "constraints" in the Territorial Continuity Mechanism that harm the Region's residents.
