PSD Demands Maintenance Plan for Machico's Public Spaces

Municipal deputies from the PSD in Machico have criticized the current lack of cleaning and maintenance of public spaces within the municipality. They are demanding that the City Council implement a permanent intervention plan.

The concerns, reiterated from a Municipal Assembly on September 30th, include sidewalks and verges overgrown with weeds, degraded gardens, and uncontrolled vegetation, particularly in riverside areas. The party argues that the situation compromises safety, accessibility, quality of life, and the municipality's tourism image.

The PSD calls for an immediate reinforcement of cleaning efforts, regular interventions in green spaces, and the creation of a maintenance schedule. Additionally, they questioned the Social Support Regulation and advocated for a minimum monthly grant of 150 euros for displaced students, while also contesting restrictions on Local Accommodation.
