PSD-M Highlights Organized Grazing for Land Management and Animal Welfare

The PSD-M emphasized the importance of organized grazing, which aids land clearance, animal welfare, and natural heritage protection.

PSD-M deputies visited a site to highlight the value of organized grazing, a practice they deem essential for clearing and maintaining land, ensuring animal welfare, and protecting the Region's natural heritage.

Rafaela Fernandes, a party deputy, stressed that organized grazing involves owner responsibility, safeguarding animal well-being, and balancing human activity with environmental conservation. Veterinary supervision and adherence to vaccination schedules are critical.

The PSD-M also underscored the significance of collaboration between landowners and herd management associations, viewing organized grazing as an effective and cost-efficient solution for space maintenance, particularly in hard-to-reach areas. They hope this model will be replicated and encourage more landowners to engage with associations for land upkeep and animal care.
