The PSD/Madeira Parliamentary Group has submitted a motion of congratulation to the Madeira Football Association (AFM) in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira on the occasion of its 110th anniversary.
Founded in 1916, the AFM has tracked the evolution of football in the region, organizing competitions, training athletes, and developing areas such as futsal and women's football. The PSD/Madeira highlighted the contributions of clubs, directors, coaches, referees, staff, collaborators, and athletes over the decades.
The party also emphasized the role of associative movements and cooperation with public institutions, acknowledging the specific challenges of an island region. The celebration is seen as an opportunity to recognize the work done and prepare for the future of the sport, ensuring new generations find football a space for development and community connection.
