PSD Madeira has criticized the delays in the recovery of the Reis Magos Ruins in Caniço and the revision of Santa Cruz's Municipal Master Plan (PDM). The Social Democrats believe the prolonged completion of this planning instrument is holding back public and private investments.
Councilman Saturnino Sousa highlighted that five years after a recovery project for the historic building was presented, the only development is a discussion about its ownership. The PDM revision, which began in 2019, also remains unfinished with no projected start date, affecting other entrepreneurs and families in the municipality.
The PSD emphasizes that completing the PDM revision is crucial for establishing clear rules that enable investments and the development of the municipality, attributing the delays to the current JPP municipal management.
