The PSD parliamentary group in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira has positively assessed the proposed State Budget for 2027 (OE2027), but believes there is still room for other regional demands to be accepted during the detailed negotiation phase.
MP Brício Araújo highlighted that the document serves as a favorable foundation for the upcoming Regional Budget and emphasized the benefits of cooperation between the Regional Government and the Republic's Government, contrasting it with previous administrations. The PSD will continue to advocate for issues such as health subsystems, financial responsibilities for security forces, and the ferry link.
Araújo expressed hope that amendments will be considered before the final global vote scheduled for November 24. He pointed out the increased state transfers to Madeira, including funds from the Solidarity Fund, compensation for the absence of the Cohesion Fund, financing for the new Central and University Hospital, and support for employment policies and firefighting.
